How to analyze ROIs?
Optimize the effectiveness of the Region of Interest (ROI(s)) feature in image analysis.
What to expect from this page?
To restrict your image analysis to parts of the image, you can draw multiple ROI(s) within an image. IKOSA Prisma applications with an ROI feature will calculate results for each of the ROI(s) separately.
Important: Before drawing ROI(s) make sure that your chosen application supports ROI analysis. Check this information on the application card (see image below)
Analyze 1 specific ROI in 1 image
Click an image to open it in the IKOSA Image Viewer
Draw or select 1 ROI (switch ROI drawing mode )
Click the image analysis button at the bottom of the right-hand toolbar
Select the IKOSA application you want to use
Click “Start Job”
Analyze all ROIs in 1 image
There are 2 ways of doing it:
From the Image Viewer | From the Image Library |

|
Analyze all ROIs in several images
Go to Image Library
Select (an) image(s) for analysis
Click the image analysis button on the top-right menu in the Image Library
Tick the checkbox with ROI analysis
Select the IKOSA application you want to use

Important: On multi-dimensional images (e.g. time-series) ROI(s) can be drawn on individual time lapses. For those time lapses with ROI(s), only ROI areas will be analyzed. For time lapses without ROI(s), the whole image will be analyzed.
