One-liner: Desired outcome
Start with a direction (minimize, reduce, lower, maximize, increase, raise)
Specify the unit (time, ability, effort, chances, likelihood)
Add qualifier without using “and“ or “or“
Example: Increase the ease of algorithm training.

Short description: Situation and motivation
Start by defining the context (situation) and the desired outcome (motivation) in one simple and short sentence.
Explain how it can be achieved by means of prepared content in one simple and short sentence
Example: You need to have a well-performing algorithm quickly to progress your research - we get that. To help you achieve that we prepared a step-by-step guide to go smoothly through the training steps.

Image analysis applications usually have specific requirements regarding the input image, which are provided in the corresponding application documentation.
For example, an application that was trained to detect cells of a specific color, e.g. in histological sections, usually requires color images and will not work with grayscale images. If an image analysis job fails, you will find an error code and an error message under the error icon. Failed analysis jobs are listed on the Image Analysis page in the Analysis Jobs section under the Failed tab.
All error codes
General Error Codes and Messages
Error Code | Error Message | Solution |
---|---|---|
APPERR_0001 | Job with ROI was submitted, but the application does not have ROI support. | Submit the job without ROI, i.e. perform analysis on the whole image. |
APPERR_0002 | Input image is a WSI (whole slide image), but the application does not support WSIs. | Provide an image in a non-WSI format for this application. A possible procedure is to save your image in a non-WSI format, upload it to IKOSA® and start analysis again. |
APPERR_0003 | Input image is grayscale, but the application requires a color image (RGB color model). | Provide a color image (RGB color model) for this application. A possible procedure is to save your image as a color (RGB) image, upload it to IKOSA® and start analysis again. |
APPERR_0004 | Input image is color (RGB color model), but the application requires a grayscale image. | Provide a grayscale image for this application. A possible procedure is to save your image as a grayscale image, upload it to IKOSA® and start analysis again. |
APPERR_0005 | Input image ({}x{}) is too small. Image must be larger than {}x{} pixels (width x height). | Provide an image (or ROI) that is larger than the given minimum size. |
APPERR_0006 | Input image ({}x{}) is too large. Image must be smaller than {}x{} pixels (width x height). | Provide an image (or ROI) that is smaller than the given maximum size. |
APPERR_0007 | Input image has dimension {}, but the application only supports dimension(s) {}. Input image has dimension {}, but the application only supports 2D images (no additional dimensions). | Provide an image that has supported dimensions only. Provide an image that has no additional dimension. |
APPERR_0008 | Input image has a non-WSI (whole slide image) format and exceeds the maximum size of {} megapixel(s) for this format type. Use a WSI format to analyze such large images. | Provide an image that does not exceed the given maximum size. If the application supports WSI (check application documentation), a possible procedure is to save your image in a WSI format. Alternatively, you can crop your image to a supported size. Then, upload it to IKOSA® and start the analysis again. |
APPERR_0009 | Input image file format is not supported by the application. | Upload the image in a supported file format and start analysis again. |
APPERR_0010 | Input image has {}-bit depth (radiometric resolution), but the application only supports depth(s) {}. | Provide an image that has the supported bit depth (radiometric resolution). |
APPERR_0013 | Input image has {} channels, but the application only supports {}. | Provide an image that has not more than the supported number of channels. |
